In order to strengthen its aviation safety supervision staff, the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority proceeded on January 18 and 19, 2024, to the selection of Aviation Safety Trainee Inspectors on the premises of its Training School, through written tests and an oral interview. These tests took place under the supervision of a jury made up of experts, chaired by the Director General of the CCAA, Mrs. Paule ASSOUMOU KOKI.
Forty candidates from the following fields took part in this initiative:
– Aircraft Airworthiness (AIR)
– Technical Aircraft Operations (OPS): Flight OPS and Ground OPS specialties
Aerodromes and Ground Aids (AGMs)
– Air Navigation Services (ANS): ATS/SAR, PANS-OPS, AIS/MAP, CNS and METS specialties.
The selected inspectors will be responsible for fulfilling Cameroon’s obligations in terms of supervision of civil aviation safety, in accordance with the legislative and regulatory provisions in force. They will be responsible for:
Carry out controls and audits in the context of:
– The issuance of licences, certificates, authorisation, approval, as the case may be, to personnel, aircraft, facilities and equipment, as well as to aeronautical service providers;
– Monitoring of license, certificate, authorization and approval holders or quality control activities; and
– Solving aviation safety issues;
to investigate and record infringements of civil aviation laws and regulations.
