Training of civil aviation experts on flight procedures
The Director General of the CCAA, Mrs. Paule ASSOUMOU KOKI, has led the opening of a ten-day training session this September 25, 2023, aimed at enhancing the expertise of civil aviation experts on flight procedures. The training has brought together twenty African experts from South Africa, Angola, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo, Zimbabwe and Cameroon.
The ICAO organized this training to assist States in accelerating the full implementation of regulatory oversight of Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) to enable African air navigation experts to effectively monitor the implementation of flight plans. The two-module course is designed to equip learners with the necessary tools to monitor obstacles and create trajectories.
The CCAA Training School is hosting the training, which will help reduce certain deficiencies by bringing the experts up to date on PBN, the priority of the Global Air Navigation Plan (GANP).
The Director General of the CCAA also took the opportunity to urge all civil aviation experts to work together to strengthen security at airports and avoid falling under the sanctions of the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP).
